My Inky Friends Time to Sale-a-brate Blog Hop: Precious Parcel by Staci

Welcome to the Precious Parcel stop on the Time to Sale-a-brate Blog Hop! If you are going in order, you came from Cindy's use of Lovely Lattice and are headed to Rhonda's Lasting Lily. Enjoy!

SAB Precious Parcel Card Kit Bank/Box Project

It all started with a mug - a Starbucks “Been There Series” mug that came in a box that I could not bear to throw away. Go get one and you will see!  The box is rectangular, made of a very heavy cardboard, with an open side and mine is close to Pool Party in color.  At 5-1/2”x4”x3-5/8” it just happened to be a similar size to the cards in the Precious Parcel Card Kit (149750) coming up as a FREE selection for Sale-a-Bration 2019!  Here is how I covered and decorated all sides of the box by using (2) of the Soft Sea Foam “Post” cards from the kit.

Here are the steps:

1. Lay open the two cards, keeping one intact and punching out the slot on that card.  Add the twine to the front holes of that card and tie into a bow.  Cut the second card into three separate panels, as shown below.

2. Add Sticky Strip adhesive to the intact card panels as shown below.  These will be the bottom and left side of the box.

3. Place the “Post” panel with the slot and bow on the open front of the box; wrap the side panel along the left side to adhere; and fold on the bottom piece to adhere, which will hang over slightly at the sides and back.

4. Before adhering the front, take the matching piece to the one that was just placed on the bottom of the box, using the card that you cut apart.  (This piece is just green with no images.) Score this piece at ¼” along the size with the rounded edge. Place Sticky Strip on the inside along that score line and at the back edge, between the adhesive that is already there. Adhere this to the top of the box, folding over the flap to the front. (See photo above).

5.Fold the front “Post” flap up, and using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere the front flap along both edges, sealing it to the open front of the box.

6. Adhere the right-side panel to the box, aligning the cut-out part at the top. Embellish with postage stamps from the kit.

7. Adhere the back “Post” panel to the back of the box, placing adhesive over the die cut areas so that those pieces stay in, and letting the back hang over on either side.

8.Embellish the left-side of the box with one of the floral spray/postmark pieces from the kit.

9.Cut apart the floral envelope piece from the card kit and overlap to fit on the top of the box, trimming as necessary.  I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the envelope.

10. Add embossed gold corner pieces to bottom front of box and other embellishments as you wish.

The box is now complete to use as a Valentine’s note box, a bank, or just a decoration!
